It's been a few days now but the truth is, we are all still obsessed with Team USA. That was apparent Monday night at Duluth International Airport, where a HUGE crowd gathered to help welcome our Northland Olympians home.

It was absolutely packed as Superior's John Shuster, Duluth's John Landsteiner, Tyler George and Joe Polo, McFarland's Matt Hamilton and Eveleth's Phill Drobnick got off the plane and back on Minnesota soil. The crowd exploded as they walked through the doors.

Team members then took time to greet as many people as they could. They signed autographs, did interviews, took pictures and let some very lucky fans see their medals up close.

The crowd was in the spirit, chanting and waving American flags in the air. It is such a cool thing to watch.

The team members even got a special police escort to their homes from there, courtesy of the Duluth and Superior Police Departments.

It was an amazing and well-deserved homecoming for the team. The Northland natives beat Sweden for the gold 10 to 7.

If you want to continue the celebration, the DECC is holding a special recognition event for the team, along with other Olympic representatives from the area, Tuesday night starting at 4:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Lake Superior Ballroom. For more details, click here.

Congrats again, team!
