Pizza Hut Promises Free Pizza If This Super Bowl Record Is Broken
The Vikings aren't in the Super Bowl (it may still be too soon to bring this up) BUT this might be a nice consolation prize.
Pizza Hut is offering all of America free pizza if a certain record is broken on game day. This is not a drill! That record? The fastest touchdown.
The current record is 14 seconds into a game. This record is held by Devin Hester of the Chicago Bears from Super Bowl XLI in 2007. The good news is he is ready for someone to beat him - he has teamed up with the company as part of the promotion for the free deal.
If the record is broken, a medium, two-topping pizza is yours! It is important to note that this has to be a touchdown and no other play.
It's completely free and super easy - all you have to do is sign up for the pizza giant's reward program before kickoff on Super Bowl Sunday. From then on, you will receive text alerts and score big deals like this one. Most importantly, you will be able to get the freebie if the record is indeed broken.
You can sign up online here or on your smartphone. You can redeem your pizza during a four day period from Thursday, February 8th to Sunday the 11th.
According to Pizza Hut, there have been 15 touchdowns scored in the first 14 seconds of a game during regular season and playoffs but this has never happened during a Super Bowl.
The pizza giant is expecting to sell more than 2 million pizzas with peak ordering time exactly one hour before kickoff. Score!
