The Top Three Frozen Bar Pizzas In Minnesota
I saw this pop up on Reddit, and I was amused at how passionate people are about their tavern pizzas. There's something special about having a simple bar pizza. It's rarely a planned meal. You usually order one when you stay a little longer at happy hour than you planned, and you've given up on dinner. So, you order a piping hot bar pizza and immediately burn the crap out of your mouth. It's all part of the experience.
To be clear, we're not talking about bar pizzas that are home-made by the restaurant. There are plenty of fantastic places to get pizza and a drink. I'm talking about the frozen pizzas that the bar pops in the pizza cooker.
What makes a good bar pizza is that it's quick, golden brown cheese, plenty of sauce that oozes out, and it's cut into squares or even diamond shape (if you're fancy.)
#3 Brew Pub Lotza Mottza
Lotzza Motzza can be found at quite a few bars. You can also purchase it from the store and bring it home. Lotzaa Motzza is known for its cheese. And, as you can see in the video, it retains its heat for quite some time, giving Dave Portnoy one of the most severe burns he's experienced.
#2 Kettle River Pizza
Another very popular pizza in Minnesota is the Kettle River pizza. It's made at a small shop in Askov, Minnesota. It's a very popular pizza in bars and restaurants around the area, and is also used for fundraising drives for schools and organizations. If you've never had a Kettle River pizza, make sure you try it when you get the chance. It's delicious.

#1 Heggie's Frozen Pizzas
It's really hard to pass up a chance to have a Heggie's pizza. They are the most popular brand served in bars and taverns in Minnesota. They've got a bunch of different flavors. My favorite is their cauliflower crust sausage and pepperoni. The cauliflower crust is better than the original! These pizzas need to be cooked until the cheese is golden brown.
