Anyone who has driven Highway 61 knows there isn't much land between the highway and Lake Superior. A popular gas station at the foot of the Blatnik Bridge in Superior closed its doors as 2017 kicked off. While the actual reason for their closing wasn't disclosed at the time, many speculated it was due to competition coming into the area.
