WDIO Meteorologist Pokes Fun At Duluth Weather On Groundhog Day
This is the hilarity that we need on a cold winter day!
Tuesday (February 2nd) was a very important holiday if you will: Groundhog Day! It is the day we all wait for to see just what the rest of the winter season has in store. Punxsutawney Phil, a famous groundhog known for this kind of thing, emerges in the morning and decides if we will see an early spring or six more weeks of winter. Of course, he saw his shadow and therefore, we are all bracing for six more weeks of cold, snowy winter.
WDIO Chief Meteorologist Justin Liles caught wind of Phil's prediction and said what we were all thinking: it doesn't really matter in the Northland. We are going to see a brutal winter no matter what! However, he decided to make us laugh so we don't cry about it and posted a hilarious photo on his Facebook page poking fun at the whole thing.
Check it out below:
Ha! I can not tell you how hard I laughed when I saw this photo. The entire thing is hilarious and the photoshop is great.
This isn't the first time the meteorologist has made us laugh when it comes to weather in the Northland. Back in May of 2019, he had the best reaction to some late-season snow and shared his thoughts on social media. It made me laugh back then and still does to this day.
He is right - the winter weather does whatever it wants in our neck of the woods so we might as well make the best out of it.
