For over 25 years (with a gap during the height of Covid-19) over 40 of the finest restaurants in the Twin Ports would all gather together throughout the historic bluestone walls of the Fitger's Brewery Complex in Duluth to help raise money for the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Foodbank.

Every year attendees could walk around the complex and sample the finest cuisine and drink in the area all for a great cause. Many people were ready and excited for this year's event, but unfortunately, it has been postponed.

The event was scheduled for October 28 and could potentially be rescheduled for late March 2023. Fitger’s Inn Hotel Manager, John Klemme said to FOX21: "Unfortunately, we had to postpone the Taste at Fitger’s event because our local restaurant partners didn’t have the staff or resources needed to do it at the end of October as we had planned."

"Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit and is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Northland. Each year we distribute over 7 million pounds of food, or enough food for 5.6 million meals, which feed approximately 44,000 of our Northland neighbors in need. Our distribution occurs through a network of effective regional agency partners and through our own direct service programs including our: Food ShelfMobile Food PantryNutrition for Seniors (CSFP) and BackPack Program."

Even now so many businesses are still feeling the effects of the pandemic as they are desperately trying to fill positions in their business, and for a special event like this that requires so much extra manpower, it would seem nearly impossible to make it happen right now. All purchased tickets will be refunded, and Fitgers is encouraging people to donate directly to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank instead.
