It's summer.  Time to initiate the 3 B's.  BBQ, beaches and BEER!  Since I host the Solid Gold Saturday Morning on B105, I thought I'd ask the burning question.  Who does Pop-A-Top better?  Jim Ed Brown or Alan Jackson?

There is actually a couple of big names besides Trisha Yearwood associated with the song "Walkaway Joe".  Don Henley of the Eagles sings background and Matthew Mcconaughey is in the video from the early 90's.  I DID NOT KNOW THAT!!! Sad thing is, Trisha never really got to meet Matthew and here's why.

I'm a "lady of the 80's" and you will definitely see some 80's hair in THIS video!  I chose Diamond Rio as our "Solid Gold Pick of the Week" with a song I use to call, the ravioli song when I first started in radio, "Meet In The Middle".

Last Friday morning we learned that we had lost an iconic voice in country music.  A legend whose career spanned 5 decades.  Country Music Hall of Famer, George Jones had passed at age 81.  Since that morning, we have learned the cause of his death.

I was surprised to learn that Glen Campbell, Country's Rhinestone Cowboy, was once a replacement member of The Beach Boys!  It's fun finding out tidbits of info to share with you about our Solid Gold Saturday artists.  I chose Glen Campbell because he is our birthday boy this week, turned 77.
