Around the 4th of July Holiday, DWI arrests in Minnesota surge. It's actually to the point where there are 3.9 arrests every hour in the state. There's extra enforcement on the roads beginning today.
There were extra officers, deputies and troopers out on Minnesota roads between November 22 and December 31, 2017 for their holiday DWI campaign and their efforts led to 2,656 DWI arrests.
Todd Alan Murphy was arrested after he fell asleep behind the wheel at the Holiday Station Store on Boundary Avenue. With this recent arrest, he's just one short of a twelve pack of DUI's.
Starting tonight and all weekend through Monday's St. Patty's Day, the Duluth Police Department along with other law enforcement partners will have extra officers patrolling Duluth streets to make sure St. Patrick’s Day weekend is a safe one. Get a DD and don't drink and drive!
As added incentive to influence your decision whether to drive after you drink this Thanksgiving, there will be added DWI enforcement on the roads. Think ahead and pack a bag or make sure you have a designated driver committed to sticking to non-alcoholic drinks.

In case you hadn't heard, Tuesday night Randy Travis was arrested for a DWI. Cops found him on the side of the road, where he crashed his Pontiac Trans Am. He was naked and very drunk. There also was a 911 call from a convenience store where he tried to purchase cigarettes... naked. What the heck happened? Here's some possible explanations:
