Does this mean spring is here? We officially have our first bout of severe weather for the spring season. It doesn't include snow which means we may have finally put winter behind us.

I don't want to jinx it though. With temperatures finally warming up slowly, we have a round of very springlike severe weather on the horizon for the Northland just in time for the weekend. I absolutely love a good storm!

The National Weather Service of Duluth shared more details on Thursday morning (April 16th), sharing insight into just what we can expect. It's especially important to make note of this storm because it could be our first big storm of the year and you may not be prepared.

It also may impact your weekend plans. This round of severe weather is expected late Friday afternoon (April 17th) between 3 p.m. and midnight.

According to their forecast, the Duluth area is expected to get hit with some isolated severe storms. The strongest chance for that will be between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. At the time of writing, things should calm down a bit after that.

Make sure that you have a plan in case severe weather does strike so you aren't panicking. Since this is the start of severe storm season, it's a great time to talk to your family as well so you are always prepared for the season ahead.
