Petty Officer 2nd Class Kasey Bergerson joined the Navy 8 years ago and we want to say thank you for your service.

Bergerson is a 2010 graduate of Hermantown High School and someone the Navy is proud of. They contacted me and said we like to highlight people who do a top-notch job and she is from your area. So, I looked up her story, here it is.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Kasey Bergerson serves as an information systems technician, so she fixes computers when they break down, and she is the person who gives people sign-in codes and email accounts.

Bergerson said she wanted to join the Navy because her Mom was in the Navy while she grew up in the Northland. She wanted to follow in her Mom's footsteps so she too joined up. Bergerson says growing up in Hermantown has prepared her for all of her challenges in the Navy.

She says growing up in a small town, you grow up with everyone and you know everyone. Like on her sub, she is with the same people and you see them grow as you do and you wind up being close friends. Because she is an information officer and works on a sub, she is known as the "Silent Service".
