Alborn, Minnesota Bar Hosting 8th Annual Military Appreciation Party August 6
It's the 8th year in a row for the Annual Military Appreciation Party in Alborn, Minnesota. This event has grown over the years, and it's continued to raise money for the local American Legion.
The Clip Joint is hosting the party on August 6th beginning at noon. They are just Northwest of Duluth, and a few miles west of Highway 53 at 6697 Chase Dr. in Alborn, Minnesota.
They invite all service members past and present, and supporters of the Military to come out to show love to the veterans and to have a good time.
They'll have prize drawings throughout the entire day, along with a horseshoe tournament, bean bag tournament, and mountain golf. They'll also have a live band at 3 pm, and then karaoke at 9 pm. There's free food including hotdogs and brats, drink specials, and a campfire at the end.
They also encourage people who have an old flag to bring them to be properly retired at 3 pm. When an American flag is tattered or worn, it is retired with a special service where it is disposed of in a dignified way, normally by burning it.
The Clip Joint is inviting people that are attending to bring a tent or camper and spend the night. They have plenty of room and everyone is welcome.
Last year, The Clip Joint raised $6200 for the Brookston American Legion. They hope to top that this year with a heck of a party. Some of the money goes to Veteran's Honor Flights.
