The 2nd Annual Heather Rose Scholarship Foundation Run is taking place this Saturday in Beaver Bay. The bike run is to honor and celebrate Heather Rose who died in a tragic car accident a couple of years ago.  Her family and friends celebrate and remember her for her tremendous heart, infectious laugh, and the impact she left on those she knew.

She loved to go on motorcycle rides with her father Jeremy, so that's where the bike run idea came together. I had a chance to meet and talk with Jeremy, Amanda, and sister Hanna on the B105 Breakfast Club about the foundation run. Here's the details.

  • Ride Takes Place Saturday, September 26, 2020
  • Ride starts and ends at Tracks N Racks in Beaver Bay, MN
  • Registration begins at 11am
  • Cost is $20 for a single rider or $30 for double
  • Kickstands up at Noon

There's going to be food and other activities at the bar. They also want people to know that they can follow along in a car if they don't have a motorcycle, but would still like to participate.

The money raised goes towards the Heather Rose Scholarship. This is a different scholarship as they also provide financial aid to students who are going into the military or trades, not just four year programs. Jeremy gave us as an example that a student may receive their scholarship money after completing boot camp. Or once a student starts in their trade after their training, they could receive the money for tools.

Fall colors are nearing their peak up the North Shore, so this should be a beautiful ride to commemorate a beautiful person, Heather Rose.
