You can take in men and women showing off their skills at the Lumberjack World Championships this weekend in Hayward, WI.  That's huge, it's WORLD championships.  Plus, there is so much more to do in Hayward, your family will love it!

It's a perfect day trip destination for many reasons, the Lumberjack World Championships are just a bonus.  When we go to Hayward we camp at the KOA, they have a pool, a water slide, activities for the family and our favorite, tubing down the river, they even pick you up afterwards!  They are pet friendly and have a great running/biking trail right next to the campground.

Inside the the quaint town of Hayward there are shops to keep you busy (don't miss the candy shop to get nostalgic candy).  While you're there you'll have to grab a pizza at Coop's Pizza, we always make sure to save a night to do that while we're there. Oh, and right across from the Lumberjack Bowl where all the action is there's a mini-golf course too.

You'll want to check the Lumberjack World Championship schedule of events, but get ready for some fun, but intense, competition.  You'll see log rolling, different kinds of chopping and sawing, climbing and more.  This competition has been around since 1960 and If you've never experienced it before, you'll be glad you went and be back next year!
