Competitive Eating Champion Joey “Jaws” Chestnut Is Returning To Minnesota
I am the first to admit that I love food and love to eat, but at a normal pace where I can actually savor the flavor of the food like most people. So when I watch or I should say attempt to watch the Eating Competitions on T.V. I really struggle because honestly, it is super gross in so many ways.
The funny thing is the one that gets me the most is when someone is eating hot dogs or anything on a bun and they dip said bun in water with the meat in order to get it down faster. The wet bun...ugh get's me every time. Well unlike me in so many ways one man has reigned supreme as the winner of tons of eating competitions Mr. Joey Chestnut.
Chestnut is glowing as the winner for the 15th time at the Annual Nathans Hot Dog eating championship. He managed to devour 63 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes this past fourth of July weekend. What they didn't show at the contest was a protester dressed in a Darth Vader costume running up on Chestnut during the competition to which Joey put him in a headlock and tossed him to the ground before security made off with the guy. Chestnut did not skip a beat and kept on eating. I guess he is as tough as his name implies.
Chestnut will be putting his skills to the test as he returns to Minnesota for The Great Midwest Rib Fest World Eating Championship at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel starting at 2 p.m. on July 30. He and the other contestants will have 12 minutes to down as many ribs as possible. He does own the world record for eating ribs which is 13.76 pounds back in 2013.
According to Bring Me The News: " Known as "Jaws," Chestnut will have some stiff competition, including the No. 2-ranked eater in the world, Geoffrey Esper, who is the defending rib-eating champion after beating Chestnut in 2019 by 0.09 pounds."
Back in 2017 Chestnut walked away with the crown at Mystic Lake when he ate 125 tacos in eight minutes. Good luck Joey, you got this!
