Each one is different but scammers use similar tactics for most of them and those tactics are getting pretty advanced, making these scams much easier to fall for.
Now, there's one we need to be aware of right here in Duluth. The Duluth Police Department shared this warning on Friday (September 6th) on social media.

Duluthians have been getting emails with personal details, which makes this scam even easier to fall for. The emails include the victim's name, address and phone number.
The scariest part? A Google Earth image of their house or their previous address is included, creating fear for the person who opens the email.
The email gets even creepier, with the scammer demanding that you pay them money or else they will release 'private' information about you. I would panic if I got an email like this, especially when they seemingly have all your information.
