Duluth Is Named The Best City For Pet Travelers
Duluth is a very popular place but this may be the best title the beautiful city has ever been given! According to a popular pet website, it's the best city to travel to if you have pets in tow.
GoPetFriendly.com holds a March Madness bracket each year - only it has nothing to do with basketball. It's about the best cities in the country for those traveling with pets.
This year was no different. According to the site, 64 cities were nominated this year and slowly narrowed down. The poll had nearly 1,000 voters with Duluth taking the win over St. George Island, Florida by just a few. But hey, a win is a win!
The website credits Duluth's 'spectacular outdoor recreation' and 'fun-loving vibe' for taking the top spot. Even with those factors aside, the site says residents still have the down-to-earth feel of a hardworking city, saying, "With 6,834 acres of city parkland, 178 miles of wooded trails, the Lakewalk path, and water sports galore, your options for enjoying the outdoors are endless … and that’s just the beginning!" We couldn't agree more.
More attractions? Duluth's four dog parks. Canal Park has several pet-friendly seating areas where you can check out the water and eat with your pooch. Your pet is also able to shop and browse right with you at Fitger's shopping mall.
The site's owners say they will be visiting Duluth this summer to see what all the hype is about and we think they will love it.
Earlier this year, Duluth was also named the 'hippest' city in the country AND the most underrated in the state.
Good to know things are catching on! The more pets, the better.
