Chum Duluth Has More Needs For New Winter Want List
With the Warming Center opening and asking for donations, CHUM released their Winter Want List for all their entities.
More people than ever need help and a list was released on their website and in an email sent including their newsletter and latest happenings for the next few months. This includes the shelter, food shelf, Steve O'Neil Apartments, St. Francis Apartments, and also some cleaning supplies.
As we move into the new year more people are losing their jobs and sometimes their homes and apartments. More people are showing up to get warm, to get a meal, to get warm clothes for the coming months. There are more people living on the streets than ever. Every little bit helps. Top of the list is blankets and sleeping bags. The shelter is in need of new or gently used microwaves. Also, they are asking for pots and pans to replace the older ones. Sometimes these can be pricey so you might want to go in on these together with someone. They are in need of bedding, especially Twin sized sheets, and blankets. They are in need of washcloths and towels.
Chum cannot accept clothing at this time, and will not take sharp items such as knives or other breakable items. If you do have any of the things listed above, please call 218-720-6521 to volunteer or email Molly Lyons.
