Charlie Daniels’ Song The Devil Went Down to Georgia Now Has an Official Music Video
The song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by The Charlie Daniels Band never had a music video made because it actually came out two years before MTV was even a channel on TV. It was released in 1979. The video will sound different than what you hear on B105 only because it's the live version from the Blue Hat Records album Tailgate Party.
Vassar Clements originally wrote the basic melody an octave lower, in a tune called "Lonesome Fiddle Blues". The band changed the octave and put words to it. The song was the band's biggest hit, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It was also featured in the 1980 movie Urban Cowboy.
