Last night was the 45th CMA awards. There were some hilarious bits including Hank Williams Jr, Miss Piggy, and Little Jimmy Dickens as Justin Beiber. The best part of the CMA's is to watch the performances and collaborations of artists. After all that's what the award show is all about: entertainers and recognizing the best in the business. Here's the five that stood out as the best performances of the CMA's

Blake Shelton & Kenny Loggins Open With Footloose

I love Blake Shelton and I think he's incredibly talented, but what made this a great performance is the addition of the original Footloose genius Kenny Loggins. I couldn't help but smile when Kenny did his part. Sorry Blake, but that song still is Mr. Loggin's.

    Taylor Swift Performs "Ours"

Adorable Taylor Swift won Entertainer Of The Year for the 2nd time last night. Performances like this are why. She has a special ability to connect with the audience. This performance deserved (and received) a standing ovation.

Lionel Richie Sings With Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, & Rascal Flatts

Lionel Richie is an icon in the music industry and he has a country duets album coming out soon called "Tuskegee." I enjoy seeing country acts try their r&b chops out with a legend. On another note, when he was singing with Darius Rucker on stage I could not help but think it's about time there's two black guys on the CMA stage together. Really, it's nice to see a little more diversity in country music finally.

Zac Brown Band & Gregg Allman Sing "Georgia On My Mind."

Well I'm a sucker for this song. I've always loved the tune and to bring a legend like Gregg Allman on stage just put the icing on the cake. What a great performance from Zac Brown Band as well. They really are some well rounded musicians.

Glen Campbell Tribute From Keith Urban, Vince Gill, & Brad Paisley

It was fitting to recognize Glen Campbell with the tribute last night as he is on his farewell tour. It was a great performance, and you sure felt like you were saying goodbye to Glen Campbell. It was the most emotional and touching moment of the evening.
