Three Northland Pizza Places Make List For Best Pizzas In Minnesota + One Is The Winner
I stumbled on a list of the best pizzas in Minnesota, and I was so happy to see one of my favorites make the list. There also are a few more that I'm going to have to go on a road trip to try. These look delicious.
The source of this list is the 2023 Authoritative and Best Pizza List in Minnesota. It was actually shared on National Pizza day which was on February 9. Yesterday was Pi day (3.14), and a lot of pizza places used that day for marketing, and the list popped up on my feed.
One of the pizza places that made the cut is actually one of my favorite places to go growing up! It was just don't the street from my house in Biwabik, Minnesota. My mom would call in the pizza order, give me the cash, and I would walk two blocks and pick up delicious Vi's Pizza. It is my childhood. Period.
Vi's Pizza
Vi's Pizza eventually moved down the street and is part of TNT Bar & Vi's Pizza. It's still just as good as it ever has been. They came in at number 20 on the list.
What makes Vi's pizza so good? Well, the sauce is on point because it's an old family recipe. The crust is also memorable, flaky, and good with just a touch of burn to it. Honestly, I'm already trying to figure out when the next time I can get to Biwabik to pick up a Vi's Pizza.
Dave's Pizza & Subs
Everybody on the Iron Range loves Dave's Pizza. Whether you are ordering it fresh or getting a frozen one to go it's always a winner. Dave's is in the Queen City Of The North, The Land Of The Loon, Virginia, Minnesota.
You know it's a good pizza place when it brings back memories. I remember hitting up Dave's in high school with my friends. We'd order a bunch of Dave's pizzas and honestly, we could never get enough.
Top of the list: Sammy's Pizza Hibbing
On this list particular list, Sammy's Pizza in Hibbing took the top spot out of 21 pizza places mentioned. Sammy's Pizza is great at any of the locations, but there is something special about the Hibbing one. Maybe it's because it's the only Sammy's in the area? Just look at this pizza and tell me your mouth isn't watering.
There are a lot of other places that have some pretty good-looking pizzas. I don't know if they can beat my favorites from the Iron Range, but it's worth a try.
