Grandma’s Marathon weekend officially kicked off with the Essentia Health Fitness & Health Expo. The free event is open right now until 9 p.m.  Everyone can walk around and see what's new in running gear and other products.

It's Grandmas Marathon week and if you are a runner looking for extra motivation, you can enjoy another great line-up of speakers this year.  All speakers will be in Duluth Friday, June 21 in Edmund Fitzgerald Hall at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Every Memorial Day weekend, TV marathons flood our channels.  Whether it be military movies, popular cable reality shows, or movie marathons, it can make for a great weekend catching up on missed episodes of TV shows, or just being a couch potato.  Here's whats going on and what to watch.

The weather hasn't been the best of friends to organizers and mushers with the Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon and this year it has forced a later start.

The North Shore Inline marathon takes place tomorrow and there are several road closures you should be aware of.  Some of the road closure take effect this evening at 4pm:

I know, I know!  Who the heck wants to run the day after you've run a marathon, or even a half marathon?  Honestly, that's what I use to think, I would be like "I can take the next week off, because I just ran 13.1 miles".  But, if truth be told, it does the body good and feels fantastic to get the "kinks" of those sore tight muscles out.
