Grandmas Marathon Celebrates the Release of The Finish Line: Going the Distance in the Marathons of Life
Whether it’s a race, our careers or our personal or professional goals, we all face finish lines of one kind or another. Reaching the finish line is not necessarily the reward, but rather, it’s the journey along the way and how we feel when we get there that is so rewarding. The Finish Line: Going the Distance in the Marathons of Life is about much more than running. It’s about learning and growing, nurturing fulfilling relationships and moving toward something.
Incorporating personal stories of perseverance, disappointment and success from dozens of Grandma’s Marathon runners, The Finish Line draws connections between preparing for a 26.2-mile marathon and how we can use intention and purpose to achieve goals in our lives. The Finish Line shares runners’ stories of getting up after a fall, conquering Duluth’s infamous Lemon Drop Hill and relishing the sweet success of reaching the finish line as metaphors for life.
The Finish Line book release takes place during the 37th annual Grandma’s Marathon weekend on Friday, June 21. The author, Bob Strommen, will be on hand to sign copies of the book. Free links to the e-book will be made available to all Grandma’s Marathon runners.
About the Author: Bob Strommen ran his first marathon at the age of fifty-six when his daughter, Tjersti, convinced him to train and run with her. He’s been running marathons ever since and finds inspiration and motivation in those he meets along the way. The stories of fellow marathoners and how they weather success and failure serve as the impetus for The Finish Line. In addition to his work as a writer and motivational speaker, Strommen, a native of Minneapolis-St. Paul, enjoys a successful career in the financial services industry with Strommen and Associates, LLC.
