If you have bottles containing unused prescription drugs and you're wondering how to properly dispose of them, then you'll want to head to Superior on Friday, October 25.

The Superior Public Library is hosting a Drug Take Back Event from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on that day.  According to organizers:

Representatives from the AODA Community Coalition of Douglas County and the Superior Police Department will be on hand to accept them and make sure they are properly disposed of. Prescriptions, over-the-counter, supplements, pills, and liquids will all be accepted.

Proper drug disposal is important for a couple of reasons.  First, it prevents other people from getting a hold of the drugs and abusing them on purpose or accidentally, which could happen if unused drugs where discovered by a child.  Second, simply flushing unused pills down the toilet or throwing them away can lead to the chemicals causing environmental contamination.

Take a look through your medicine cabinets and take advantage of this opportunity.
