The City of Superior is asking for feedback on its new splash pad at Wade Bowl. The Splash pad opened on Memorial Day this year, and now, after having its first summer under its belt, the city is asking what the community thought about the latest improvement.

Splash Pad At Wade Bowl

In a Facebook post, Superior Parks, Recreation, & Forestry wants to know if you made it to the splash pad this summer. They also asked what the kids' favorite was.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many comments from people who enjoyed the splash pad. It seems the dump bucket is probably the biggest hit with the kids.

No, Unhoused People Aren't Using It For Baths

Then we got to the comments about homeless people using it as a bath. I've been by the splash pad countless times, and I've never witnessed anyone using it as a bath. On hot days, there are dozens of kids playing, and it's been a significant improvement to the park.

The increased use of the park due to the splash pad has made the park safer. With more people and more activities happening, there's far less riffraff that used to hang out at Wade Bowl.

Other comments from people say, "Build a waterpark!" Or how about a community pool? The splash pad works because you don't need to staff a lifeguard, and really, we're going to have an outdoor pool in Superior, Wisconsin, with our incredibly short summers?

I'm happy with the splash pad in the neighborhood. It's been a good thing. Check it out for yourself before it closes for the year, which will be very soon with temps dropping.
