Fundraiser Now Started After Iconic Minnesota Gentlemen’s Club Surprisingly Closes
Reports indicate that strip clubs in the Midwest and across the United States are experiencing a significant, long-term struggle, with many locations seeing declining revenue, reduced customer traffic, and closures.
This downturn is attributed to a combination of economic stagnation for working-class patrons, the rise of online adult entertainment such as OnlyFans, and changing entertainment preferences.
Now, an iconic club in Minneapolis has abruptly closed, giving employees extremely short notice, and the staff is scrambling to quickly find jobs elsewhere. A fundraiser has been started to help them with the transition.
Seville Gentlemen's Club Abruptly Closes
The Seville Gentlemen's Club in downtown Minneapolis first opened in 2004. The club, located across the street from Target Center at 15 Glenwood Avenue, was opened by Dino Perlman, who previously worked as a DJ at local venues like Solid Gold and Rick's Cabaret.
In 2015, the club was purchased by RCI Hospitality (formerly Rick's Cabaret International), a Texas-based company that also operates other local adult entertainment venues.

According to its website, the Seville Gentlemen's Club had been voted the best Minneapolis club in the Twin Cities by City Pages for 8 years and was recognized as Club Of The Year by national magazine ED Publications in 2016.
However, now the website says the club is "Temporarily Closed", and according to a GoFund page established for its employees, the closure doesn't sound temporary.
Fundraiser Started For Seville Staff
According to the GoFundMe page established for the staff of the Seville, news of the closure came out of nowhere. Apparently, staff and dancers got a message at 4 PM on Monday, March 30th, and they were only given until midnight that night to clear out their lockers.
While the website says "Temporarily Closed", employees were told the club would be closing indefinitely, leaving everyone suddenly unemployed.
Money raised from the GoFundMe will be used to "help the dancers and employees pay their bills while they pick up the pieces, find new jobs, and heal from this unexpected situation that corporate left behind."

Employees of the club are left heartbroken as the page notes that the Seville wasn't just a club; it was a family.
