Voting is open for the best scenic drive in the US. USA Today's Readers' Choice Awards 2026 have included Minnesota's North Shore Scenic Drive in the competition.

They've put together a panel of travel experts to nominate the different routes across America. Only roads that have been designated scenic byways on a state or national level were included. Voting is open now until May 4th at 11 AM Central Time. The winning byways will be announced on May 13.

You can vote once per day until then. The North Shore Scenic Drive has some serious competition. Let's take a look.

What USA Today Says About the North Shore Scenic Drive

USA Today calls the North Shore pristine, decorated with fantastic views of Lake Superior, waterfalls, rugged cliffs, and forested hills. They mention the accessibility to state parks, fresh fish, and charming towns along the shore.

Of course, that's no news to us, but hopefully tourists remember that the real stunning scenery starts after Two Harbors, so plan accordingly and drive the whole way up the shore.
