Perkins Files For Bankruptcy: What Happens To MN Locations?
This is sad news for fans of the chain: Perkins is selling its company.
The chain, along with Marie Callender's, LLC are being sold, according to a statement the company put out this week. The company has begun the process in filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
For now, they are restructuring. 10 Perkins locations closed over the weekend due to underperformance. According to the company, the remaining locations "will be open and operating as usual" and guests can continue to enjoy the restaurants.
There are still a ton of different locations in the Northland and beyond. There are three locations in Duluth, one in Superior and another in Cloquet. Other nearby locations include Hayward, Rice Lake and Brainerd.
KBJR reports the chain has nearly 350 locations across 32 states.
Over the summer, the last Minneapolis-based store closed its doors for good. This past Monday, the last Perkins store in St. Cloud also closed.
Perkins has not released a list of stores that have closed and have not commented on any possible closures in the future.
