The troubled Minnesota Slip Bridge (blue pedestrian bridge in Canal Park) is once again out of commission and there is no timeline as to when it will be working again.

According to the City Of Duluth, high winds during general operations caused the cable to become uncoiled from the spool, which caused means the bridge is not operational and it will remain pinned up until the service contractor can make repairs.  How long that will take is not known at this time.

Access between the DECC and Canal Park businesses is available taking Lake Drive.

The Minnesota Slip Bridge has had ongoing issues and the city is looking into a retrofit for the for it.  It has contracted with an engineering firm to look at a more permanent fix to the machinery of the Slip Bridge to improve operations and maintain consistent public access. Those designs will be completed later this year with the retrofit potentially taking place over the winter.
