It seems like every single day there is yet another business announcing that it is closing, whether for good or just a handful of locations nationwide. One of those recent businesses is Red Lobster, whose beloved cheddar biscuits are everything.

Red Lobster Hitting Hard Times

Like so many other restaurants and retailers, Red Lobster just announced that they are closing 87 stores across the country. They shared a list of the cities and states where they would be closing.

This does include two locations in Wisconsin, with one in LaCrosse and another in Wauwatosa. According to reports, these two are already closed.

Why Is Red Lobster In Trouble?

It's something we've seen a lot recently. Red Lobster is no different than many other restaurants, dealing with lagging sales and costly leases nationwide, many of which are under contract for a long time.

Other reports say that competition is also partly to blame, with fast food places like Panera Bread and Chipotle snagging their business. Reports also cite the pandemic as as issue, as many people stopped dining inside of restaurants.
