CNN Names Duluth One Of 10 Great US Towns To Visit In 2024

Duluth is getting some love again from a national news outlet. CNN Travel compiled a list of the 10 towns in the US that you should visit in 2024.

CNN travel editors selected the towns, and they say these places have personality, great activities to do and experience a fun vacation that's not crowded. Of course, they visited during the summertime, but they had some nice things to say about Duluth in the winter as well.

Duluth comes in at number 10 on the list.

They describe Duluth as a small port city with an even smaller-town feel. They love the fact that Duluth has a thriving outdoor community. Our craft brewing scores high with the travel editors, and so does the vibrant art and music scene.

Cooler By The Lake

They say the phrase "cooler by the lake" is the phrase that best describes Duluth and ties it all together. CNN actually says the fact that we barely get above 80 degrees in the summer is a blessing, while the rest of the country swelters.

Duluth is a climate refuge.

The Northland has been getting a lot of national attention in recent years because it's predicted that we won't suffer from the severity of climate change like other parts of the country. Comedy Central's The Daily Show did a segment on moving to Duluth, filmed in the winter and it was brutally honest.

 Duluth offers something for everyone.

CNN points out our 350 miles of biking and hiking trails, scenic views, and historic buildings. The travel editors loved Canal Park, saying it's a great option for those who aren't outdoorsy.
