It's not too soon to start figuring out what you need to get your home ready for the Superior-Douglas County Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors annual Holiday Decorating and Lighting Contest.  This year they've added a new category!

It's absolutely free to enter the contest and they encourage both residences and businesses in Superior and Douglas County to join in on the friendly competition.  The best part is that the Chamber Ambassadors will donate $5 to “Hunger Takes No Holiday” for each entry.  So while you're winning prizes for yourself, you're helping your neighbors in need, how cool is that???

Think about these six prizes categories when you're coming up with YOUR winning concept:

• Ambassadors’ Choice
• Best Use of Lights
• Spirit Award
• Master’s Division
• Community Choice
• Business

Here's how the new “Community Choice” category will work.  They are going to use  Facebook voting for this category.  Get your creation up before December 1st, because after that entry deadline they will put a photo of each entry in a photo album on the Chamber’s Facebook page. The photo with the most likes by Dec. 15 will be awarded the “Community Choice” prize.  Start warning your Facebook friends NOW that you'll be needing their votes!

The deadline to enter the contest is Tuesday, Dec. 1, with judging to take place the week of December 12-15 from 6-10 p.m..  The winners will be awarded on December 17.

Or, you can stop by the Chamber office located at 205 Belknap Street for an entry form.  Good luck!  I can't wait to see Superior/Douglas County light up for the holiday season!
