Friday Is National ‘Wear Red Day’ for the American Heart Association
The American Heart Association encourages everyone to wear red this Friday, February 3 to raise awareness of the toll that heart disease takes on the population, particularly women.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. That’s approximately one woman every minute.
Not only should you wear red Friday, but you should also schedule an appointment with your doctor to learn your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and BMI (Body Mass Index). Knowing and monitoring your numbers can go a long way in preventing disease.
