Essentia Health Opens Urgent Care in Superior
Having multiple health care options is important at any given time, but it seems even more crucial in 2020. Douglas County residents now have a new option.
Beginning at noon on Friday, October 2, Essentia Health is offering Urgent Care at its Superior Clinic, located at 3500 Tower Avenue.
According to their press release, Essentia Health-Superior Clinic Urgent Care will be open to serve patients on a walk-in basis Fridays between 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Mondays from 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
“We are responding to a need for an Urgent Care that we’ve recognized within our community for some time,” says Essentia Health-St. Mary’s-Superior Clinic Administrator Kim Pearson. “Patients have been seeking this level of care for years and we’re pleased to be able to offer them this choice, in addition to E-visits, virtual visits on demand, in-person clinic appointments and the care we provide on an emergency basis in our hospital.”
Having urgent care as an option will provide residents an extra level of convenience while also providing an increase in accessibility to the care that may be needed.
Essentia Health says that in addition to the convenience of Urgent Care, patients will also benefit from lab and radiology right on site. Their electronic medical record ensures coordinated care, no matter how patients choose to receive care.
Keep in mind, urgent care is for many medical conditions that need to be treated but are not emergencies, such as strep throat, minor injuries or even skin infections. Anyone needing emergency care should go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 right away.
