Dan + Shay are on a hot streak over the past few years, putting out hit after hit and playing to sold out crowds. However, it looks like their latest sold out show in Minnesota holds a special place in their heart.

The duo played a huge show at The Target Center on Saturday (September 25th) and it was a long time coming. Their big arena tour was first announced back in 2019 before the pandemic. In March of 2020, the show was pushed to August of the same year.

Eventually, as with pretty much everything during the pandemic, the show was pushed to 2021. Though things were still up in the air as we made our way into 2021, the duo confirmed in May that their tour would take place after all.

This past weekend, after waiting long after the show's initial date, the duo returned to Minnesota. They were feeling super sentimental about it as they took to social media after the show.

In their post, they said that they had wanted to play a show at the Target Center since they first started their career, which is pretty cool to think about. They said they used to come to the area to play smaller venues and hoped one day they would get to play the venue.

They also gave a shout out to their loyal Minnesota fans, saying that they have always been supportive from day one. Along with their post, they also shared a few videos of the crowd singing along to one of their major hits.

They stayed true to their word, taking to the comments section to respond to their devoted fans. Many commented on the post saying the concert was absolutely amazing and praising the duo for their high-energy show.

In fact, Ian from MIX 108 was at the show and told me that the duo "completely rocked" the show. He said Dan got emotional throughout the show while he was talking in between songs and that the show had nonstop energy from start to finish. The best part? Dan started off wearing a Prince shirt and eventually changed into a Vikings shirt.

The duo also didn't go home empty-handed. Duluth Pack gifted them some fun treats from their store, including one of their famous duffel bags. This wasn't the first time Duluth Pack has gifted a country star one of their popular items. They do so often. For example, a few years back, Blake Shelton got some Duluth Pack swag when he played a show at the Xcel Energy Center.

While it is sad Dan + Shay are already back in Nashville, there are a ton of other concerts to look forward to, especially in 2021. Kane Brown will be taking the stage at the Target Center in January.

Prior to that show, George Strait will headline a show at U.S. Bank Stadium. You can keep up with all shows coming to the Twin Ports and beyond in the meantime with our concert calendar.
