With Memorial Day Weekend approaching, a company is offering the opportunity for a United States veteran to make $1,000 while watching some of the best war movies ever made.

While Memorial Day is the day we honor those who have died while serving our country, HomeSnacks is providing this opportunity as their way to honor those who have served:

This is the perfect job for the patriotic Americans who have served our country and a way for us to give back and thank those who have bravely served our country.

Whoever is selected for the position will spend over 18 hours on Memorial Day watching quite a lineup of classics:

  • Apocalypse Now
  • The Bridge on the River Kwai
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Platoon
  • Full Metal Jacket
  • Black Hawk Down
  • The Longest Day
  • Patton
  • 1917
  • Sands of Iwo Jima

After binge watching the best U.S. war movies of all time, they will then need to write a 1,000 word summary of what they learned about U.S. Military history.

Once they do that, they will be paid $1,000.  They will also be provided with additional items including a large United States flag, an 'I Served' sticker for their car, an 'All-American' meal for their entire family that will be shipped to their door, a gift card for fireworks and a copy of “God Bless America: The Ultimate Patriotic Album”.

The application process for this opportunity is open now through Friday, May 22.  The winner will be announced on May 23.
