The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball program is doing their part to help out this holiday season by hosting a toy drive. They've partnered with the Salvation Army Rookie Basketball Association to host a toy drive on Saturday, December 5.

The Bulldogs basketball team will be collecting toys, hats, and gloves in the UMD Gold Parking lot from 9:30am-12:30am. The gold parking lot is located in front of Malosky stadium. They also ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing. There will also be contactless drop off available.

If you are donating a toy, the Salvation Army guidelines require that it be a new, unwrapped toy. The Salvation Army's Toyland Express last year provided toys to 1,899 Northland Children.

UMD has partnered with the Salvation Army Rookie Basketball Association with this event. The Salvation Army RBA is an organization that provides a basketball league for kids K-8 in Duluth. They teach kids basketball and team skills in a fun environment. You can learn more about them at the Salvation Army Rookie Basketball Association website. It's nice that in doing their part to help out the community that the UMD Women Bulldogs also partner with this great community organization, as so many kids look up to them.
