Duluth Salvation Army Needs Double Toy Donations For 2025
The Duluth Salvation Army says it desperately needs toy donations. In a typical year, about 600 families sign up for help during the holiday season, making sure their kids can get some toys for Christmas. This year, that number has doubled to 1200 families signed up for the service.
It's not a surprise; money is tight in many households, especially this time of year. Salvation Army Community Engagement Director Cyndi Lewis says they were already looking thin on toy donations before they saw the increased demand.
Before we knew the new total, we were already looking thin on toys – rooms that were starting to fill up by now are empty. With the doubling of need for Christmas Distribution, we need help to provide toys to all 1200 families. Toys can be dropped off at our office on 27th Ave.

The Salvation Army is also looking for bell ringers for the Red Kettle Campaign. They still have to raise over $160,000 to meet this year's goal. Cyndi says it's the most crucial way people can volunteer.
Without ringers, people don't go up to the kettles to donate. Having bell ringers out there is so cruical to us during this season.
New this year is a tap to give feature at the red kettles. You can give a pre-determined amount of money by paying with your card or mobile wallet. This helps raise money in an increasingly cashless world.
Sign up to ring bells at registertoring.com. Beginning this Friday, Super One Locations will have their round-up at the register campaign to benefit the Salvation Army.
