Birkebeiner Ski Races Offer Volunteer Opportunities
Tired of being stuck in-doors? Want to get a free Birkie hat? The American Birkebeiner and BirkieTour are coming up soon and have volunteer opportunities available in several areas. You'll get out in the fresh air, earn a free hat and get an invite to an appreciation dinner in February.
Northlanders are amazing people in the aspect that help is needed and volunteers show up. That has been proven with Grandma's Marathon, The Incline Marathon, Bentleyville and a host of other events. Why not try the Birkie this year?
There are a couple of dates that you can choose from or do both! First is the Birkie Tour on January 15-17. You can volunteer helping in the aid stations, bib pick-up, course support, food service, parking attendant and others.
There's also the American Birkebeiner on February 15-21. Volunteer spots are still available in the following areas: course control, aid stations, Barkie Birkie, Barnes Games, bib pick-up and processing, set-up, tear down, processing and others.
If you volunteer, you can celebrate the history of the Birkebeiner and the volunteerism and camaraderie that exists between people that have the same passion for cross country skiing at the Appreciation Dinner, Sunday, February 21 to be held at the Steakhouse in Hayward, WI starting at 2p.
