The City Of Superior's Municipal Forest will be free to use for cross country skiers this week.

This winter has really been a bummer for outdoors people.  There really hasn't been a good amount of snow that's stuck around, and we've ended up with a bunch of ice on our trails.  Well that didn't stop this group of folks.  They took ice skates to the trails of Lester Park for some extreme winter fun.

U.S. Olympic Committee representatives were in Cable Wisconsin yesterday planning for the Paralympic Nordic Ski World Championships that will take place this coming winter.

I have down hill skied and in recent years learned to snow shoe (yes, there's a learning curve to that), but I have never been on a pair of cross country skis.  When we down hill ski one of my favorite things to do is "skate ski" from the bottom of the hill to the chair lift, so I think I would enjoy learning how to cross country ski and be able to take in the solitude of swooshing throu

Whether you're a cross country or down hill skier, the weather has cooperated as far as snow.  Although, the temps could accommodate by warming up a bit.  But, it will soon and when it does, the Superior Municipal Forest Trails are open.  There are some things you should know before you go.
