President Larry Goodwin has been with the College of St. Scholastica for years and he has announced that he will be retiring in 2016.  He is the longest-serving president in the history of St. Scholastica and achieved double enrollment during his tenure.  But, I have a personal thank you for something much bigger that involved the community.

President Goodwin began his employment in 1987, then a bit over a decade later took on the role as President.  The Thanksgiving Day Buffet just celebrated 25 years of serving the community and it wouldn't be possible without the guidance and generosity of the College of St. Scholastica.  I have served on the planning committee for 17 of those years and have watched in awe as several kind-hearted community members give their time unselfishly, sponsors and donors give graciously and thousands of people come together to celebrate the holiday, get a delicious free meal and fellowship.

Our meetings were held at the CSS, the Thanksgiving Day Buffet website is hosted by the CSS and the TDB's storage area and Chair's office is on the campus of the College.

I sincerely hope that President Larry Goodwin enjoys his last year at CSS and want to personally thank him for the college's involvement in such an important event in so many people's lives for so many years!  Best wishes!
