5 Things You Feel During Construction Season In Duluth
Construction season is here and I think we all have some feelings about it.
No one is a fan of construction. It takes a lot longer to get anywhere and it's much harder to get around. (I have learned this lesson the hard way many times lately. Ha!)
Superior Street has been closed for some time as the city works on phase one of three to give the staple road a makeover and today (Wednesday, June 20th) a few blocks of West Michigan Street are inaccessible due to some road work. These are just a few of the many projects happening around town.
With that said, it is all worth it when the projects are done!
I like to think there are five different feelings we all experience when we're on our commutes to and from work or wherever it may be. Here they are, in order of when you feel them, with a little help from a few stock photos.
- 1
Frustration
Usually when we are running late, we are the only ones to blame. When we are late and there's construction, we tend to blame that instead, leading to a lot of frustration.
- 2
Boredom
There's only so many songs you can listen to on the road before you get a little bit bored. PSA: you definitely should NOT apply lip gloss while talking on the phone, no matter how dire the situation may be.
- 3
Confusion
WHERE AM I?
- 4
Tired
Whether we are up early and headed to work or on the way home, driving through construction only makes us more exhausted.
- 5
Happy
The light at the end of the tunnel: when you finally arrive at your destination. That wasn't so bad, was it?!
