5 Reasons To Be Thankful For This Very Cold November
We saw a bitter cold snap Monday night into Tuesday morning with temperatures well below zero and wind chill values below zero in the single digits even into the early afternoon.
The thing is, this wasn't so much a cold snap as just another day of below average conditions too early. We've also seen snow and frigid temperatures early on this month. While we are used to just about everything in the Northland, it still makes us kind of sad that Fall lasted a week.
I stopped feeling sorry for myself over this and instead decided to look on the bright side. There are a few benefits to a very cold November, right? I came up with five reasons to be thankful for a very cold November.
By the way - the Old Farmer's Almanac was a little bit off this month. They predicted lots of sunshine and mild conditions would make up for the first half of November and so far we have seen anything but. Oh well.

More Time For Winter Sports
If you are a winter sports enthusiast, you'll be excited to hit the snowmobile trails early this year. Plus - you can't forget about snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, tubing and more. It looks like we will have a few extra weeks to take part this year.

That Holiday Feeling
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to have it actually feel like Christmas time every time you step outside? Usually, Christmas tends to be a lot colder than Thanksgiving but it looks like it could be a tie this year. Either way, cold temperatures and snow on the ground certainly makes it feel like the the end of December which gets us in the holiday spirit for a little longer.

You Can Feast At Thanksgiving

We'll Appreciate Spring
Hey, we will probably even appreciate the 30s at this point. Come Spring, we will have become so used to the frigid cold, thanks to the extra few weeks of it we are getting now, that we will not let a single day go by where we aren't appreciate of a little sunshine and mild temperatures. Plus, it's nice to rip the band-aid off and just get the cold earlier rather than prolong it and dread it. That's my motto!
