Popular Meteorologist Leaving Duluth Market
I am so sad about this! A popular meteorologist, who has been in the market for quite a long time, will say goodbye to the Northland at the end of the month.
Goodbye, Brandon!
Brandon Weatherz will be leaving WDIO for good on Friday (May 31st) as he moves on to a new chapter in his life. He shared the news on social media, giving his fans time to process the news.
Brandon has been with WDIO since 2018 and has become a staple on the station. He began as a weekend Meteorologist and reporter before moving to Good Morning Northland in the summer of 2020.
Goodbyes are always hard and this one is bittersweet for sure. Brandon and his wife, Tia, will be moving to be closer to family. They have lived in Duluth for the past six years.
Brandon said he will be working outside of the industry until a broadcast opportunity becomes available. We will definitely miss him! He is one-of-a-kind and has a huge heart.

His WDIO bio lends more insight into why he became a Meteorologist, aside from the fact that his last name pretty much spelled out his destiny!
When it came time to decide on a career path, it was his love for science, fascination with weather, passion for performing, and frankly, his last name, that all pointed him toward being a broadcast meteorologist.
It seems he was always born to be a meteorologist and he definitely is leaving behind a great legacy here in the Northland. We will miss you, Brandon!
You can send him off by tuning in to his last morning broadcast on Good Morning Northland tomorrow. It looks like he has his tie and sock situation all figured out!
