Of the over 10,000 lakes in the state of Minnesota most of them with names, there are bound to be some that confuse, offend and make you laugh, these two adjacent lakes might check all of those boxes.

Lake names in the state of Minnesota are handled by the Department of Natural Resources and there is a process in place to either name a lake, or change the name of a lake, and I can imagine that whoever approved these two lakes had a good sense of humor.

Hidden away in the Chippewa National Forest, about an hour north of Grand Rapids in Marcell Township, you'll find Big Dick Lake and Little Dick Lake, and of course, they are right next to each other. Big Dick Lake is about 256 acres in size, and Little Dick Lake is only about 100 acres, but size isn't everything, right? Like, how's the fishing?

According to Lake-Link.com, anglers can expect to see Brown Bullhead, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, and some others. Neither lake has a public ramp, but access is available. In a video posted to YouTube by EyeLoveFishing, I can confirm that the fishing seems good, he pulled a few nice fish out of Big Dick Lake.

Also, I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but next to Big Dick and Little Dick lakes, is Burns Lake. I suspect it's not a coincidence and some group of intoxicated anglers hatched the idea and actually followed through when sober and named the lakes.

Big Dick Lake is also highly rated on Google, with over 126 reviews, it lands a 4.5-star rating with people commenting, "Amazing lake. Whoever named it deserves a medal", and "Not too large, not too small. This is the Goldilocks of lakes. Has always left me satisfied."
