One Wisconsin Town Is Up For Best Small Town In Midwest
Wisconsin has so many beautiful small towns, and I figured there would be more on this list for voting from USA Today. Not to throw shade, but I find it a little surprising Nebraska, Kansas, and some Iowa towns made the list.
But, fortunately, we have one town in Wisconsin that has made the voting list for USA Today's 10 Best.
What are the criteria for being considered the 'Best Small Town In The Midwest?'
USA Today's 10 Best had a panel of experts nominate the best small towns in the Midwest. They narrowed it down to 20 towns that each have a population less than 25,000 people. They describe small towns as a great relaxing getaway and a family-friendly destination.
They like the Midwest because of the friendly faces and the historic small-town charm.
Lake Geneva, Wisconsin Up For Best Small Town In The Midwest
Lake Geneva, located near the Illinois border, is one of the 20 towns you can vote for the Best Small Town In The Midwest.

Lake Geneva's charm comes from (you guessed it) the beautiful lake and all the freshwater activities that come with it. They call it an excellent destination for paddleboarding, jet skiing, parasailing, or even taking a scenic boat tour.
I have to admit, it looks like a really fun place to visit. Plus, there are 20 miles of lakeshore you can walk lined with hotels and restaurants. Mansions were built during the Gilded Age from nearby wealthy Chicagoans. This was around 1866-1896.
It really is a small town with a population of only 8,684 residents.
