Does Wisconsin Really Produce More Serial Killers Than Other States?
I was scrolling through my feed the other day when a video of Drew Lynch popped up. I remember him from America's Got Talent. He was the comedian who overcame a stutter (and actually incorporated it into his stand-up) and placed second in the competition.
He's been traveling and doing stand-up comedy. Recently, he was in Wisconsin, and he had a pretty hilarious bit. He tries to understand why so many serial killers come from Wisconsin.
Watch the clip, I don't want to spoil any of the jokes. It's funny and worth it.
It had me wondering, is Wisconsin home to THAT many serial killers? Which states have the most serial killers? So I started to Google, and now I'm pretty sure I'm on some watch list with authorities somewhere.

Wisconsin isn't the number 1 state that produces serial killers. It's actually California, New York, Florida, and Texas.

Wisconsin comes in at number 30 out of the 50 states. So hardly the state with the most serial killers. However, the notoriety of the serial killers in Wisconsin overshadows many other cases. Just look at the Netflix Monster series with Dahmer and Ed Gein. High-profile cases have made Wisconsin look more sinister than it really is. Of course, not downplaying these horrible cases.
The good news is that serial killers peaked in the 1970s and 1980s. With increased surveillance, DNA testing, and advances in crime technology, it's harder to get away with these heinous crimes.
