It's been a busy year for the Miller Hill Mall! There have been a ton of new additions as of late and they just keep coming: one of my very favorite stores officially opened its doors and I stopped by yesterday to see it with my own eyes.

If you've been to the mall as of late, you probably saw that Carter's is now open. The store is located near the Fountain Court, and opened its doors late last month.

That's not the only addition. A retro-themed arcade and store also opened recently. It looks really fun and is filled with all the things you or your kiddo need for an epic afternoon at the mall.

While all of these new additions are great, the very newest one is absolutely my favorite. Sadly, it will only be open for a few months. Yup, I am talking about Spirit Halloween.

Spirit Halloween Opens At The Miller Hill Mall

It's back - and seemingly earlier than ever! I knew the store would be opening at least one location in Duluth this year after I saw some job openings for the gig back in June. I also recently walked by the store when I was at the mall and it was dark inside.

Well, it is now open for business! My friend told me he heard it was opening over the weekend but on Sunday (August 2nd), was told that opening was delayed until the following day. I stopped by yesterday to see for myself and was thrilled to see the doors wide open.

Sadly, there weren't many animatronics in this location, likely due to lack of space. However, the store is pretty big and the shelves were packed. They are still working on unpacking everything but there was lots of new stuff this year, even without all the inventory out.

For reference, the new store is located in the old Beyond The Barn location. This appears to be our only Spirit Halloween this year but one is better than none! Happy Halloween season to all who celebrate.

The real question is...have you seen the Spirit Halloween movie yet?

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
