Wisconsin Department of Health Warns Against Eating Cannibal or Tiger Meat Sandwiches, WHAT? [VIDEO]
It's not what you think. It's neither human or tiger flesh that makes up these sandwiches, it's raw hamburger or horse meat. Yes, horse meat and apparently is popular in the state of Wisconsin. I've never seen it on a menu, but I have heard of steak tartare. Wisconsin's Health Agency brought this to our attention with a warning against eating raw or under cooked meats.
Steak tartare use to be more popular than it is now, but then again it use to be acceptable to drink raw eggs as a protein drink, right Rocky? Steak tartare is made from finely chopped or minced raw beef or horsemeat. Salt and pepper is used for seasoning and often times they use raw onions and a little Worcestershire sauce and serve it on bread. I guess one positive would be that you save on cooking time.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services wanted to make sure people were aware that eating raw meat can be extremely unhealthy for you. Salmonella, Campylobacteria and Listeria have all been linked to eating raw meat for years. If you want to eat something raw, stick to your veggies!
This would be my reaction (and happen to me)!
