Many people are going to have something to say about this. Minnesota has just cracked the top ten list when it comes to a somewhat controversial topic around here. Ha!
WalletHub often releases studies like these, and they really give some great perspective. For instance, both Minneapolis and St. Paul were just named some of the best places for an active lifestyle.

In fact, Minnesota usually does pretty well within their studies, with one of our cities being named one of the best for Christmas and another being named one of the most caring cities in the nation.
Now, the state as a whole has a reason to celebrate: Minnesota was named one of the best states to drive in. Again, some people are definitely going to disagree with this.

WalletHub released a list of the best and worst states to drive in this year, dropping it on Tuesday (January 20th). So what makes a state 'good' or 'bad' to drive in? It comes down to a few things.

In this case, analysts looked at things like rush-hour traffic congestion, which is the worst, days with precipitation, the rate of car thefts, auto repair shops per capita and more. They also looked at car washes per capita, average gas prices and more.
Minnesota Named Among The Top Ten Best States To Drive In
Okay, I see the vision here. Minnesota was named the tenth best state to drive in. Interestingly enough, Minnesota didn't place high or low when it comes to any of the rankings used for this study, but we did well enough to be given the title!

We did score relatively high when it comes to safety, which factors in things like how many adults wear their seatbelts, driving laws, likelihood of colliding with an animal while driving and so much more.
I do think that driving in the spring and summer is completely fine and we know there are some beautiful routes. However, factoring in how bad our winters are here, I just have to disagree - respectfully, of course. Ha!
As for the best states to drive in? Those would be Vermont, Iowa and Kansas. Happy travels.
