Professionals will teach you how to do the task and you can help the gardeners get Leif Erickson Park ready for winter.

Every year the Lake Superior Rose Society teaches the community and volunteers in the annual Tipping of the Roses at the Leif Erikson Park in the Rose Garden. The LSRS needs help on Thursday, October 24, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You don't' have to be there for the entire time on Thursday. but are asked not to arrive any later than 4 pm

This a great way for groups, amateur gardeners or people wanting to learn more about gardening and keeping roses for the winter. The Minnesota Tip Method will be taught by expert rose tippers. That method keeps the roses through the brutal conditions that are part of the Duluth season.

If you would like to help tip roses, check-in with Duluth Parks staff by using the button below. On-street parking is available or you can park in the lot located just east of the Rose Garden. Dress for the weather. All tools and supplies will be provided, including work gloves. Time and dates are subject to change due to weather conditions.

You can see more info on the DuluthParksMN Facebook page or contact Cheryl Skafte at 218-730-4334 or cskafte@duluthmn.gov for up-to-date information on the Rose Tipping events. Check there for any cancelations or delays.
